Progetto FIRESPILL – Work Café con gli stakeholder pugliesi per la presentazione delle azioni pilota

 Nell’ambito del progetto FIRESPILL “Fostering Improved Reaction of crossborder Emergency Services and Prevention Increasing safety LeveL” finanziato dal Programma INTERREG V-A Italia-Croazia 2014-2020, si è svolto lo scorso 6 maggio un “Work Café” con i principali attori e decision-maker pugliesi responsabili della gestione delle emergenze naturali e antropiche.

Durante l’incontro sono state presentate le due azioni pilota che la Regione Puglia – Sezione Protezione Civile realizzerà nell’ambito del progetto in collaborazione con i suddetti stakeholder. In dettaglio, un’azione pilota è relativa alla gestione degli incendi boschivi, mentre l’altra riguarda la gestione di sversamenti di idrocarburi in ambiente marino-costiero.

Le azioni pilota sono in linea con l’obiettivo generale del progetto FIRESPILL, finalizzato a sviluppare sistemi di gestione delle emergenze a livello transfrontaliero e ad incrementare l’efficacia dell’azione nella lotta alle catastrofi sia di origine naturale che antropica, attraverso un miglioramento della capacità di reazione e recupero delle organizzazioni e delle squadre di soccorso coinvolte, al fine di ridurre l’impatto sulle popolazioni delle aree del Bacino Adriatico.

FIRESPILL Project “Work café” with stakeholders to present the pilot actions of the Civil Protection Department of Puglia Region 

On the 6th May, the Civil Protection Department of Puglia Region organized a “Work café” with the main Apulian actors and decision-makers responsible for the management of natural and anthropic emergencies.

During the meeting, the Civil Protection presented the two pilot actions to carry out in the frame of FIRESPILL in collaboration with the mentioned stakeholders. More specifically, the first one relates to the management of forest fires, while the second one relates to the management of hydrocarbon spills in the marine-coastal environment.

These actions are in line with the general objective of the FIRESPILL project, aimed at developing cross-border emergency management systems and increasing the effectiveness of the action in the fight against both natural and anthropogenic disasters, through an enhancement of the reaction and recovery capacity of the organizations and rescue teams involved, in order to reduce the impact on the populations of the areas of the Adriatic Basin.
