Food4Health

Coordination of the Health Marketplace Special Unit –Italy-Albania-Montenegro Interreg Project  FOOD4HEALTH in partnership with CIHEAM, Region of Molise, n. 3 bodies in Albania and n. 2 in Montenegro. The project aims at strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in the cross-border area through the improvement of production techniques and the transfer, sharing and adoption of European quality standards for the processing and enhancement of typical and traditional products of the agri-food and fishery sector in order to foster market access. More specifically, it pursues the following objectives:

  • Improve transnational framework conditions for innovation and competitiveness of agri-food and fishery SMEs also through strengthening institutional dialogue: quality and consumer health;
  • support the internationalisation of SMEs in the cross-border area;
  • activate Food4Health community laboratories, where intangible actions may be developed oriented to the transfer of good practices consolidated in previous projects such as Apulian Lifestyle and Agriculture and Quality.  These laboratories should represent innovative models to support enterprises and the entrepreneurship of the target areas, aimed at the incubation of new entrepreneurial realities and the requalification of unvalued production chains in depressed areas of the cross-border area.

In the framework of this project, the Health Marketplace Special Unit will start, during the implementation phase, targeted actions aimed at the transfer of the Apulian Lifestyle good practice and at the dissemination of project outcomes through promotional and dissemination events and workshops on the Apulian Lifestyle and the Mediterranean diet.
