Puglia opens its doors
Ukraine has been living an humanitarian emergency: millions of people are leaving the country to flee the ongoing conflict.
Puglia Region has promptly established its Regional Committee for the Ukrainian Emergency with Prefectures, Police forces, ANCI Puglia and UPI Puglia to manage reception and assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
Puglia has always been a land of hospitality and solidarity. It can be seen as an home for people who need to be welcomed, just as our tradition related to Saint Nicholas’ teaches.
The arrival of Ukrainian refugees in Puglia is involving the entire territory. According to the guidelines of the Civil Protection Department and the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Puglia Health Authorities - supported by the Departments of Prevention and the health districts - are leading health screenings and verifying the vaccination coverage of Ukrainian citizens landing in Puglia.
